About the Center
The Center for Arts, Culture and Embodiment is Panorama Research Institute's fifth research center, addressing the arts, culture, and the body as sites of knowledge, meaning, and social practice. The Center examines music, dance, performance, and creative practice alongside broader questions in cultural studies and embodied cognition.
The Center's work engages with the arts not only as objects of study but as modes of inquiry in their own right, exploring how embodied and creative practices generate knowledge that complements and challenges conventional academic modes of understanding.
The Center's research is interdisciplinary, drawing on performance studies, cultural studies, cognitive science, ethnomusicology, dance studies, and the philosophy of art. It collaborates closely with researchers across the Institute's other centers on projects that intersect with culture, communication, and the social dimensions of knowledge production.
